Under Pressure

Lately I have had this pressure on my shoulders to re-join the Slippery Kittens Burlesque. It is a fantastic group of wonderful women but I just don’t feel like dedicating that much time and effort into a “hobby” right now. It seems that once I let them know that I am not ready, I continually get texts or emails on how they need to hear if I am coming back or not. I have emailed and txt the following and they seem not to understand (or choose not to understand.)

#1- I don’t have the money right now to get a license ($190) and to start making my costumes again

#2-Right now I can’t commit to anything besides work.

I want to be able to sit on the couch on Sunday’s and watch scary movies, I want to know that the extra money I do have, I don’t have to spend it on costume supplies.

Also, I don’t feel that it is in my best interest to be a burlesque dancer by night and want to move up in my company during the day. Sure…right now its fine but if (and this is a very big if) I end up being the CEO of the company I am with or a different company, it would be something almost everyone would look down upon.

The last and final rant…I was in the Slippery Kittens at their “prime.” We were on America’s Got Talent and we made it to the top 40. In my opinion, I think that The Slippery Kittens had their chance to fame and the universe chose not to have us. I don’t want to end up being 40 years old with a child dancing in bars at night, I want something bigger and better.

Does this make me a bad person?

My In-Laws

I LOVE my in-laws and I have the cutest nephews (Thanks Jenny and Tim for having them)! I thought I would post some of the pictures of them from the past few months.
